Vision partners with Lafourche Parish Schools to offer free digital safety seminar

LAROSE, LA – Vision Communications has partnered with Lafourche Parish Middle and High schools to offer a live digital safety seminar that is free and open to the public. This seminar is geared toward middle and high school students, parents and teachers, and will demonstrate methods to prevent harmful digital and online behaviors such as sexting, cyber bullying, digital blackmail and exploitation, and others.

This award winning seminar will be presented by nationally renowned speaker Richard Guerry, founder of the Institute for Responsible Online and Cell-Phone Communication (IROC2.org). Guerry is the author of Public and Permanent: The Golden Rule of the 21st Century and has been a featured speaker at many national conferences and conventions. He has also appeared as an expert on CNN, MTV’s ThinLine Campaign, Parade Magazine and in local, regional, and international publications.

The live seminar will be held at:

Central Lafourche High School
128 Johnny Dufrene Drive, Mathews
September 11, 2014 from 6-8 pm

“As a member of the communities we serve, we strongly believe that it is part of our responsibility to do what we can to protect the families in them.” said Toby DuBois, Vision Communications’ Chief Marketing Officer. “At these free seminars students, parents, grandparents and teachers can all learn how to avoid the digital pitfalls that too many young people are falling into in today’s digitally connected world.”

Registration is not required to attend the seminar, although Vision encourages those attending to arrive early since seating is limited.
